About

I want to start this blog to document my transition from IT Management to Data and DevOps engineering. I want to share my learning and notes on this blog by writing short articles about the stuff I'm learning about. This helps me a lot because it illuminates the concepts I don't understand fully yet (but my brain tricks me into thinking I've mastered). Also, it's a lot of fun to write about technical topics.

Why bother documenting my learning? Well, I want to take a more active role in my learning, rather than consuming content and not telling anyone about it. You don't know a topic well, unless you can teach it to others.

Here's a great article on why I want to do this.

A bigger reason to document my learning is to enjoy my passion of learning about difficult topics. Data and DevOps engineering has been at the centre of my world in recent years, and I'm passionate about designing and delivering data-driven systems.

This is super exciting because a career in tech and IT engineering means being exposed to constant challenges to learn complicated topics. I've been a life-long learner, and being involved in IT allows me to constantly being exposed to new things.
